At last!

Filed under: AllMe, DailyTales — alpha @ 10:55 pm

Our wedding album is finally finished, at least the soft copy. It looks fine na, so we might not have any revisions. After almost 3 years… First, we needed to choose a certain number of pics to developed and from there we would select those to be included in the final album. After a while, I realized that it’s better to have all the pics developed instead. It’s much easier to look at the actual picture than by viewing it sa pc. So then after receiving all the pics, it took us a few more months to select the pics for the album. Our photog (who is Chito Cleofas, btw) even said that our album was a record holder for taking the longest time to complete :D . Anyway, it was finished long ago, but we weren’t able to pick it up. Buti na lang, Chito was kind enough to have the cd of the album sent to J’s office together with our wedding portrait.

Here’s a few of my favorites. Actually, favorite ko lahat.

You can view the entire album here.

Our video? It’s finished na, but we still have a few revisions. I think it was stated in his site before that he personally edits the video himself, hence the price. But from the looks of it, parang hindi. Well, that’s another story. {I do love the AVP, though. Added spark to the program.}

And I won!

My buzzer beater layout won. And I got a $10 gift certificate at Jen Wilson Designs. I bought mostly elements and a few paperpacks. I would have loved to get more kits, but I thought elements are better purchase because they can be used in a variety of layouts.

See this blinkie: pinoy1.gif

A sis from the forum created this one for us and I proudly display it my About Me page. Join us in the forum, it’s a lot of fun, mababait lahat, and they get you motivated to scrap.

Time to test drive…

Filed under: Click, DailyTales — alpha @ 10:40 pm

… our new toy. Went to Enchanted Kingdom on the morning, but it rained the moment we arrived. We waited a bit, but then we thought that the rain won’t be stopping anytime soon, so we decided to go somewhere else. Decided to hit Batangas, or Cavite or Tagaytay, but south was gloomy. So off we went to Manila instead. But guess what? Rain followed us to Manila. Fortunately, the skies cleared in the early afternoon. J wanted to shoot Manila Cathedral, but there was a wedding going on. (I thought there were no Sunday weddings?). Proceeded to Baluarte De San Diego, but the place was being fixed up for a reception. Then we thought of Paco Park…

And sharing a few of my favorite shots.

I am so pleased that I got to take a few good shots (by my standards, at least), considering I am not yet familiar with our toy.

Merry Saturday

Filed under: DThird, DailyTales — alpha @ 11:59 am

Started decorating our house for Christmas. Bought these two-toned (red and green) Christmas lights from Ace Hardware for only 100 pesos. They now adorn our front windows.

win.jpg

To do: Put more lights in front of the house. Put up our tiny Christmas tree. And arrange my Christmas houses.

Take a peek at our street. On the left side of the pic are colorful lighted parols. Our neighbor’s, not ours. Just wait till we put up our lights. hehe

street.jpg

It’s really beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

And now for the merrier stuff.

Estong got to ride the LRT this morning. I was initially having second thoughts of bringing him to Manila and then letting him ride the LRT. But still we went anyway. We parked the car in SM Manila, then took the LRT going to Carriedo. I wish I had taken a pic of him while inside the LRT :( . Didn’t bring my camera for security reasons. So why did we go to Carriedo?

For much merrier stuff.

One wish off my list. Now you are mine. It’s “ours” technically. Oh well. I am not ready to handle it yet anyway. I am so clueless.

I scrapped…

Filed under: DigiScraps — alpha @ 11:58 am

… a new page. This is for the Week 3 contest of Philippine Digiscrappers Forum. And it’s my fastest scrap ever. Usually, it will take me several hours, to even days or weeks before I complete a page (and even eternity I think as I still have a few pages left unfinished hehe). This one took me about 2-3 hours. I wanted to do more with this page but I was so pressured with time. I submitted this 10 minutes before the deadline. A buzzer beater.

A little background on the challenge: Photos must based on action shots. They should be able to tell a story just by looking at them. No journaling. Title must convey the whole aspect of layout. Title limited to 4 words (ooops, mine is 5.). Must use 10 different elements. Bonus points if those elements will come from 5 different designers.

Here’s my buzzer beater layout:

aintnomountain-blog.jpg

Yeah, it’s one scary stunt. I never really allow him to go this far and this high. But for documentation purposes, I let him do it. I swear, it only took a few seconds.

Credits here.

Bought the items below during the Black Friday sale. I so never want to buy anymore scrapping stuff yet as I still have lots of unused kits, but I just had to buy. Though these are just cheap, I only spent more or less $10 (Oh, I have one more element pack, not included in the pic)

Updates

Filed under: DailyTales, DigiScraps — alpha @ 3:26 pm

i thought i lost my precious pictures. i was looking for some pics to use for a challenge in the philippine digiscrappers forum, but most of the pics in my dvds were damaged. i tried copying them to my hardidsk, which took a loooooong time, but still the pics were bad. it felt so sad, so disappointing. after all the compiling of the pics…. my pictures really are my prized possessions. thankfully, when j tested the disks on his office pc, they were all ok. turns out, our dvd drive gave up on us. probably from all my burning the past week, or caused by me inserting a disk with a post-it :D

i read that disks aren’t reliable storage, so we got a new hard disk to store all my pictures, aside from the cds and dvds that i will be having as well. better safe than sorry.

copied all my pics to the new harddisk except those that are stored in dvds. still waiting for the replacement of the dvd drive.

and my scrapping stuff are finally in order. the deadline of the forum’s challenge is tomorrow, i think. i’m not sure if i’m going to make it. but i have a project that i’m so excited to make. we (my scrapping friends from the forum) are going to make guest sheets for wanda’s wedding. this is fun!

i won in the forum’s first photography challenge and i got this set of actions for a prize.

got the wedding gown and barong dry-cleaned.

i need more patience. estong is growing more malikot and makulit by the minute. here comes terrible two’s…

and i need some cash for my digi stuff. lots of black friday sales are going on. so tempting.

look at those pants

I swear, our pc is not for the short-tempered and impatient people like me. I’m currently working under 512mb of memory, and it’s so slow. The other 512mb was taken out as it seemed to be incompatible with the other one. The computer would just hang for no reason at all and lately, it would restart. At first I thought Estong was behind the frequent restarting of the computer :D . What’s interesting is the 2 RAMs have exactly the same brand and model, except that the newer memory has fewer chips(?). If only we could afford it that time, we should have bought a 1GB RAM instead.

Weekday Getaway

Then went to Sonya’s Garden for meryenda. So glad they were able to accommodate us even without a reservation. There were only a few guests since it’s a weekday. Tempted to have a massage since it costs only 500 pesos, but we were so stuffed. Next time. We’re definitely going back (with our new camera, **wish!**), the place is so beautiful, lots of flowers, very pretty location for a photo-shoot, and we love, love, love their salad. I’m not really fond of fresh salads, but theirs was yummy. It mut be the dressing. Anyway, pictures again!

Weekend Recap

Filed under: AllMe, DailyTales — alpha @ 10:49 pm

Got a new househelp last week. Had her acquainted with her chores sked for the entire week. Yes, I do have a schedule for my househelp, and I’ve even broken down the main tasks into little tasks/instructions. So far, she is doing ok.

Went to the mall last Saturday and felt guilty for purchasing 3 pairs of capri pants ’cause I know I won’t be able to wear them often. Oh well. And got 2 scrapbooking mags as well and I haven’t scrap in a while. Oh well.

Shopped for this week’s groceries. And I think I spent a little too much. I really need to make a list to keep track of our expenses. I actually have been doing the listing thing already, not regularly however. Lazy…

Finally, I’ve finished transferring my pictures in CDs to DVDs. Stayed up till 4 am on Sunday. And found these pictures while doing the transfer…

Next on the list, scanning…

Potty-trained my little boy. We got him a soft-seat (not really a potty, but a seat that is put on top of the regular toilet bowl) two weeks ago, but was able to use it only now. It wasn’t a success, though. Poop stopped when we put him on the seat. He probably got busy playing with the tissue paper. (Of course, I took some pictures, but I won’t be posting them.) He was able to poop on the regular toilet bowl a long time ago though. I was giving him a bath then when I noticed that he’s gonna poop, so we immediately put him on the seat and it was a success.

I’ve been trained by my little boy to do little tricks. Seriously. Instead of me asking him to do the tricks, he’s actually the one who demands tricks from me. If he wants me to sing “if you’re happy and you know it…” or “i have two hands…”, he would hold my hands and then would gesture to clap my hands. If he wants me to sing “my toes, my knees…”, he would either grab my hand and make me hold his foot, or he would just place his foot on my hand.

And here is Estong this weekend…
