Book, sun, eyes and pray

Filed under: DThird — alpha @ 1:31 pm

Can’t think of a better title. Little things that I want to remember…

read.jpg
He doesn’t know how to read yet, but he knows when the book is upside down. I saw him turn the book upright before he started going through the pages.

walk.jpg
He really is fascinated with the sun and the shadows. He likes to walk around it.

pakyut.jpg
Gotcha! He’s doing his beautiful eyes again.

Last night, while I was watching TV and waiting for Estong to get sleepy, he grabbed my hand and put it on his forehead. Then his right hand pointed to his forehead and to his chest, as if making the sign of the cross. That’s when I realized that he would like to pray as he already wants to sleep. I hold his hand each time he prays so I can guide him with the sign of the cross, so whenever I would ask him to pray, he would hold my hand so I can help him with the sign of the cross.

Your backyard friends…

… the Backyardigans!
backardigans.jpg
My little boy sings or hums along with the backyardigans song, whether he sees it on TV or I sing it. I also notice that he usually hums when he hears certain songs. Is he gonna be a singer? Wish ko lang..

smile.jpg
That’s him whenever he sees his favorite commercial on TV. He loves the amoy-baby pampers commercial, as well the other pampers commercial where the toddler is seated on a pushcart while the mommy is shopping.

Coloring. He now prefers a coloring book more than the drawing pad. After a while, he started “tasting” the colors so I had to keep the colors away, despite his crying.

Sweet Day

Filed under: DThird — alpha @ 1:07 pm

It’s a sweet day today. Only because Estong has been eating sansrival for breakfast and lunch. He only managed to eat a few servings of rice and ulam, then ate a lot of sansrival. We had the sansrival last night after dinner as I was craving for it. Although Estong ate a lot during dinner last night, he still managed to eat a few more servings of sansrival. Since we still have a few slices left, I think we’ll be having it again tonight. He’s holding an apple on the pic above just because I don’t have a picture of him eating sansrival :D .

Yum!

~crispy pata!~

He loves…
~Crispy pata. We ordered crispy pata when we had lunch at Exotik Restaurant. He must have been very hungry as he couldn’t wait to be fed. He quickly grabbed the food from the plate and ate all by himself. (He’s eating the leftover on the pic above.)

~Apples. He used to not like it, but it’s now his official meryenda.

~Beermatch Cracklings. The salt-&-vinegar-flavored crackers. I really didn’t want him to eat those kaso mapilit. He saw me eating them kaya he had to have them as well. Kahit mukh-asim na sya, sige pa rin.

~Lucky Me Pancit Canton. Favorite ko. Again, he saw me eating them kaya dapat sya din. Flavor is chili-mansi. Kahit spicy, sige pa din. I didn’t let him eat a lot of the unhealthy (aka “junk”) foods though.

Playhouse story and some pics

.:Saturday:.

kidstop.jpg
~at kidstop playhouse in festival mall~
I wouldn’t recommend this playhouse, though. It was the first time we tried this and the experience wasn’t fun. At least, for me. First, they charge a certain amount if a parent goes inside with the kid. Why? Di ba dapat wala kasi they won’t have to take care of the child kasi the parent is with him already. Second, they don’t watch the kids. They just let them play around. Sometimes they call the kid, then that’s it. And third, they don’t really watch the kids, especially the not-so-good ones.

The story: I sat Estong on one of the little cars (not the one shown in the pic above) and then a big, chubby kid (probably around 7 years old) came up to him and tapped Estong’s arm and said something like “That’s bad.”. Syempre, Estong didn’t really react kasi di pa naman nya talaga naiintindihan. At syempre, ako ang nag-react. I immediately asked those in-charge for the guardian of the kid. I would tell him sana na bantayan ang alaga nya kasi nananakit ng smaller kids. Kaso the kid was alone pala. His parents just left him there to play. Those in charge of the place asked the kid to say sorry na lang. He did so I let it pass. A little later, Estong and the kid met up na naman. Kaka-slide lang ng kid from a pole and Estong was giggling. Aba, lumapit ba naman yung bata at itinulak si Estong. I really couldn’t remember kung napaupo si Estong o nasalo ko. Basta ang alam ko, sobrang nagagalit ako. I just carried Estong out of the playhouse. At habang papalabas, Estong was crying kasi he didn’t want to leave. I just told him na “Alis na tayo dito, masasaktan ka lang dito.” Pero medyo malakas kasi I want them to know na naiinis ako. They know na nananakit yung bata, di pa nila binantayan. It could be worse. Pano kun nalaglag or nauntog yung tinulak nya. Gustung-gusto ko ng patulan yung bata talaga kaya we left na lang. Naiiyak din ako. I was just not sure why, dahil ba nasaktan ang anak ko, dahil di ko malabanan yung bata, dahil di ko sya mapagtanggol.

And now I’m thinking if there’s something wrong with the kid or the way he’s brought up. Kasi I was always with Estong while he’s playing, bakit kaya ang tapang nyang manakit considering there’s an adult. The kid is old enough to understand good and bad. Bakit sya ganun? I wouldn’t mind if he’s 3 or 4 or 5. But he’s older than that. Iniiwan na ngang mag-isa sa playhouse e. Don’t his parents know the kid’s behavior? Or alam nila, kaya nga nila hinahayaan mag-isa, kaya na daw ipagtanggol ang sarili. Hayy…

I pray na sana Estong won’t grow up that way.
