December Delights

Filed under: Celebrations, DailyTales — alpha @ 9:43 pm

December 19th
My birthday. We had lunch at Gourmet’s Cafe in Silang, Cavite.

{salad, pasta, pizza, cheesecake}
We were supposed to eat at Antonio’s but cancelled the last minute. Too expensive. Estong ate a little and spent most of the time at the play area.

{estong was grinning from ear to ear because he thought his daddy was playing with him everytime he ran towards us after setting the camera timer}
After lunch, decided to go to Paradizoo, but we missed a turn so we ended up at Sonya’s. We just bought their salad dressing, popped beans and their chocolate cake. Then went to Our Lady of Manaoag in Tagaytay. Dropped by Ilog Maria before heading home to buy soaps and shampoo. Estong got colds. ;(

December 20th
Home. Estong has colds and cough.

December 21st
J took a leave and we brought Estong to his pedia.

December 22nd
Since Estong was not doing well the previous night, J decided to stay home with us. Then we had dinner at Don Henrico’s to celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary.

{pizza, pasta, cheesecake… again}
Estong was doing fine already, although he still has colds and cough. He was eating on his own. He fed himself cheesecake using the small spoon. And ate strands and strands of pasta, with his hands, this time.

J told me later that night that I was supposed to get roses from Island Rose that morning but for some reason the delivery didn’t arrive.

December 23rd
The roses arrived.

But I didn’t receive it personally. We were at the grocery when the flowers were delivered.

December 24th
Heard mass in the morning. Prepared the food for noche buena in the afternoon. Gave away the CD calendars to relatives living close by in the evening. Had noche buena, with Estong in bed, sleeping.
dec24food.jpg
{my angel hair pomodoro, hotdogs, ham & bacon, salad, fried chicken, sonya’s garden chocolate cake, syempre coke at tinapay}
I tried to wake him up, but he didn’t want to. I changed his pajamas, but still he didn’t wake up. So we had noche buena without him.

{zzzzzzz}

December 25th
Christmas! Estong opened his gifts when he woke up. He’s good in tearing those wrappers away. And he played with each toy after opening them.
dec25open.jpg
Had our picture taken (by our househelp) before leaving.
dec25family.jpg
Went to Monasterio De Sta. Clara before proceeding to Marikina.

December 26th
Had lunch at Sonya’s Garden (Grabe, ginagawa namin Jollibee ang Sonya’s. Next year, tipid mode na ulit. :D ) with some friends. N, who is working in Singapore, came home for Christmas and treated us to lunch.

There were unbelievably lots of people in Sonya’s that day. At may free “show” pa. The shower rooms and cr’s in Sonya’s are all wide open, meaning, there are no curtains, just screens. We were walking around and taking pictures when something or somebody grabbed our attention. We saw someone took her towel off to take a shower. I think it’s the shower room in their massage area. And we weren’t the first to spot her. According to another friend, she heard from the group who was there before us something like “kasama yan sa binayaran natin.” The shower room is actually far from the garden area, but not far enough for people not to see those taking their showers, though you would hardly recognize them. The food was refillable (parang drinks hehe) pala. The last time we ate there, I wasn’t given another slice when I asked if I could have another serving of the cake. Pero this time, eat-all-you-can talaga kami.

We then had coffee at Gourmet’s Cafe before calling it a day.

Krispy Kreme

{photos by DH. the bite was mine. :D }

We’ve tried it. No, we didn’t stand in line just to get a taste of it. (And we wouldn’t dare wait in line again as what we did when Gonuts Donuts opened.) It was a Saturday and surprisingly, there wasn’t a lot of people in the store. Their donut is softer compared to Gonuts Donuts, and I think the glazed one is a little less sweeter than that of Gonuts. If eaten straight from the fridge the next day, I could hardly tell the difference. But they do give you a donut to try when you walk in to their store. However, it’s a bit pricey for a donut. And because donuts isn’t one of my priorities, I’d just go with Gonuts Donuts. :D

But I think Estong loves Krispy Kreme more than Gonuts Donuts. He almost finished his daddy’s sampler donut. They should have given Estong his own donut. hehehe

{See the leftovers on his lips? He looks sad though. It was after his nap, about an hour after he ate the donut. His daddy fed him, and he didn’t wipe his mouth clean. :D }

I miss…

{me in my previous work}

…work. And I never thought I would. (And probably those who know me wouldn’t have thought of it as well. :D I wasn’t so serious and dedicated to my work before.) I do consider myself very fortunate that I get to stay at home and be a full-time wife and mommy. But after more than a year of doing so, I feel that I’m missing something. DH has been a very good provider. Although there are times that we need to be cautious in spending, I still get to enjoy my “luho”. I don’t want to work full-time again, though. I still want to be a full-time wife and mommy, and probably work part-time. It’s different when you earn your own money and spend your own money. And I want to work while I still can for my son’s (and future kids’) future, as well. Now, ano kaya ang pwede kong gawing raket????

He didn’t take his nap this afternoon. So I just took some pictures of him. Luckily I was able to take a few pictures of him smiling and looking at the camera.

Busy Mode

Filed under: DailyTales — alpha @ 12:52 pm

ako.jpg

I’m not. Seems like most of the people are in a busy mode nowadays. The Christmas rush ~ parties, buying gifts, preparing the house, and the list goes on. But I’m not really in a busy mode. Though looking after a very energetic kid keeps me occupied with a little computer time on the side. {Btw, the boss is in sleep mode right now. He woke up a tad early this morning that’s why. I just hope his daily pm naptime will return.} I don’t have any parties to attend to, already bought gifts for my son, but I think there are still a few more things I need to accomplish.

~ Calendar give-aways. Still can’t find a cd calendar case. Might have the calendar spring-binded instead. Need to decide before weekend, and have several copies of the calendar printed.

~ Ribbons. For the calendar packaging.

~ Gift tags.

~ Envelope. For monetary gifts.

~ Buy a few more Christmas decors, just because they are on sale. hehe.

~ Take more Christmas pics (decors, the house, gift, etc), so I can have more choices when I scrap them.

~ Get Estong a new set of pajamas for New Year’s Eve (kasi may pictorial ako hehe). For Christmas Eve, he will wear a red t-shirt we got at Enchanted Kingdom and I will match it with a pair of gray pajama pants with red, green and blue designs that I got at SM. For Christmas Day, he will wear the clothes and shoes bought by his tita. For New Year’s Day, he will wear another set of clothes I got at the garments sale in Bulacan.

~ Organize our cabinets. Organize Estong’s cabinet and take away those that don’t fit him anymore and get new ones. He badly needs new sets of pajamas. His old ones are kinda small for him already though I let him wear them still. :D

~ Christmas Eve food. I’m thinking of having a garden salad (ala Sonya’s, if I can find a similar dressing and the yummy nuts), breaded fried chicken (just dip the chicken in beaten egg with butter, then coat with flour, then salt & pepper, then fry), pizza (just tasty bread with pizza sauce and toppings), chocolate cake (ala-Sonya’s, but might just get the cake from Red Ribbon).
